It should be obvious to most of you by now that I am, among other things, a horn player. I picked up the horn in 1972 at the age of 12 in the eighth grade. Though this was not my first musical endeavour. With a good Ukrainian name like Kowalchuk, I started my musical education at an early age taking accordian lessons when I was in elementary school. I never progressed to the polka band stage, but at least I learned to read music.

I haven't quit the horn since, playing in all the bands and orchestras through high school (Including the dance band). Also during high school I played in the local Militia band as well as the community pops orchestra. Add to this every musical theatre production in town and I was a very busy young horn player.
